Thank you for helping us raise more than $183,000!

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your support of Wine Women & Shoes and the Carolyn Scott Rainbow House! We know this year has been full of surprises and unprecedented times. While we wish we were all celebrating with you in person, we are excited to announce that Wine Women & Shoes will be virtual this year!

Your support and participation is needed now more than ever. While most everything in our world has changed, there are plenty of things that haven’t – children are still fighting cancer, overcoming heart defects and recovering from illnesses at Children’s, and their families are still finding a home-away-from-home at the Carolyn Scott Rainbow House.

Please invite a few friends to get together and join us for Wine Women & Shoes streaming online on Friday, July 17, 2020, at 7 p.m. We will welcome Gina Melton as our host at this virtual event that will include a silent auction, a full week of shopping with our fabulous marketplace vendors and heartwarming patient stories. We will also recognize our amazing Shoe Guys and crown our King of Sole. Children’s has also partnered with Restaurants, Inc. and Corkscrew for delicious party packs for your at-home watch party.

You can register below to receive updates on the virtual event, and be sure to find our event on Facebook.

Thank you for your generosity in attending our virtual event where you can sip, savor, shop and support our community treasure: The Carolyn Scott Rainbow House.

Cheers!

Benefiting the Carolyn Scott Rainbow House

Proceeds from the Wine Women & Shoes virtual event will benefit Children's Hospital & Medical Center's Carolyn Scott Rainbow House. Since the first Rainbow House opened in 1983, this community treasure has provided convenient lodging, compassionate support and a "home away from home" to thousands of parents and family members of children receiving services at Children's who live 60 miles or more from Omaha. Families enjoy private rooms, gathering spaces to visit and unwind and a large common kitchen and dining room. There is no formal charge to stay at the Rainbow House and, true to Children's mission, no one is turned away if they are unable to pay. Your support will ensure families have a safe haven in Omaha, as they face the challenge of having a sick child.

Carolyn Scott Rainbow House Facts: 2019

  • 46,000 stays
  • 16,000 rooms occupied (85%)
  • Served families from 35 states and 2 countries
  • Average length of stay: 5 days
